Comments box on your website using Dreamweaver CS4 tutorial
In this video tutorial by James Brand, we will be installing the Disqus comments system which is from Disqus.com. The Disqus system is free to use and will dynamically produce comments on your website allowing you to communicate with your website users and interact with them.
The Disqus free comment box is a comments generator which uses a small snippet of JavaScript which is placed at the bottom of your web page just before the closing body tag. This is a good thing because usually, adding JavaScript to your website can slow the pages load times down considerably which nobody wants. The comment box code is the last part of your web page to load up and wont load until the rest of your web page has loaded up first! Because the box for comments is usually placed at the bottom of a web page after the main content, it will have plenty of time to load while your eager user peruses your web page content first.
Other benefits of using the Disqus comment box are that you can set an email address so you can be notified of any messages you receive on your website and you can also reply by email and the comments will be loaded onto your site automatically! You can also set the comments to filter out certain words like swear words and other types of profanity that you would not want other users to be offended by.
You can also set the comments generator to go through you first with all comments allowing you to choose whether they are suitable to be uploaded onto your website giving you complete peace of mind. The box code is easy to install and if you watch this video tutorial, it will show you how to position it with CSS selectors.
